Care and Warranty Instructions
All our jewelry are made with a brass base (carved by hand) covered by a layer of 14K gold plating.
Depends of its quality, gold plating can be fairly strong and durable. In standard terms, the gold layer is measured in microns. Many companies are used to plate their jewelry with a layer between 0.1 and 0.5 micron, which is very thin and cheap. All La Fiancée du Facteur's jewelry is gold plated between 1 and 3 microns. 1 micron for our necklaces and earrings. 3 Microns for our rings and bracelets, which are constantly in touch with water, soap, dust, etc.
The time-span of gold plated jewelry depends on several factors. It largely depends on your care of it. Here are a few tips to get the most longevity out of them:
_ Avoid wearing gold plated jewelry during any activities were you may scratch or rub them against rough surfaces,
_ Avoid direct contact with water, chemicals, including household cleaning products, products based on bleach or ammonia, perfumes and cosmetics, creams and hair sprays. We advise you to apply lotions and makeup before putting on your jewelry.
_ Clean your pieces with a soft cotton cloth and warm water. A small drop of liquid soap can be used, but avoid using jewelry cloths with chemicals.
_ Always store the pieces individually in their box / pouch away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. This will prevent scratches and any reaction with your other jewelry's metals and alloys, as well as the wear of exposure to the environment.
The jewels are guaranteed for 1 year from the date of purchase (invoice as proof)
